To complete this assignment you will follow the directions to join the discussion forum and post a short statement (2-3 sentences) to introduce yourself to the class. This posting will be viewed by all the members of the class.

Briefly describe a rite of passage in your family. What is the function of this rite? How is it affected by two of the following: gender, ethnicity, race, culture, religion, or sexual orientation? Written Assignment on Family Trasnsitions Due Class #13

Bring to class and be prepared to submit a 2-3 page paper that describes two normal transitions that families experience during the family lifecycle and some functional ways that families cope with these. Clearly define each of the transitions and discuss the bio-psycho-social issues inherent in each. What are some of implications of failure to successfully accomplish the transition? Make relevant references to your readings and web site explorations using proper APA style.
